Aldeburgh

Less than 2 months until my exhibition in Aldeburgh … apart from the paintings (kind of crucial) there are all the other admin things to do … fliers, price lists, calendars, mounting and/or framing, postcards and of course alerting people! This blog is a good place to keep track of what I have done and…

New exhibition

I am going to have an exhibition of my paintings in Aldeburgh in Suffolk at the beginning of November during the poetry festival which is over the weekend of November 2nd. This is exciting but also rather daunting – I need to produce around forty framed pictures which I will need to sell as I…

Tabernacle exhibition

I am having a joint exhibition at the Tabernacle from May 9th-13th. This came about as I met my four fellow exhibitors courses we all did at the Royal Drawing School. They ran a series of courses on painters who had painted in London – Hogarth, Turner and Blake – hence the theme of our exhibition….

Dovedale Arts Festival

This coming weekend is the Dovedale Arts Festival in Derbyshire. Music, literature and paintings in a beautiful setting. Eight of my recent  collages will be on show along with two other painters.

Other speakers were Melissa Harrison, Justin Cartwright, Dervla Murphy who was interviewed by Rose Baring of Eland and Ursula…

Last minute panic

I’ve suddenly started a whole different way of painting and collage-making and am keen to get several into the exhibition which is fast approaching. I thought for a long time about the invitation that I have sent out – did I dare as it was so different – but I’m glad I dared do it…

Exhibition date change

Just a short post for all those waiting on tenterhooks for my exhibition!! I have changed the date – it will no longer be in September. It will still be at the Tabernacle – but the new date is Tuesday November 10th through November 14th.

Genoa

Went to Genoa for a long weekend many advantages – NO tourists (apart from those joining cruise ships), good food and wine, the fact you could walk everywhere – but many of the paintings fairly second-rate. Grand palazzi in narrow streets, a wonderful Rubens of the Circumcision (quite a rare subject) and an amazing treasury…
