Painting in Provence

Just back from a wonderful two weeks of painting in Provence … beautiful weather (apart from battling the Mistral while doing collage – that was a challenge!) Most mornings we did an exercise – the first week was collage and the second week was colour and in the afternoons we painted what we liked – often using the morning’s exercise. We visited markets in Apt and Isle de la Sorgue and painted in Murs (with its wonderful tree), Villars, Simeone la Rotonde, Brantes, Abbaye St Hilaire, Menerbes and St Saturnin des Apt. Delicious food – and very little exercise – so I forced myself to swim every morning before breakfast … even though the temperature in the pool hovered around 60°. The next post will include some pictures – I hope.
